Rev. Alyce French Johnson
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Alyce French Johnson has been married to Joseph Johnson, Jr. for 35 years and together they have one son, John, a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline, and 3 grandchildren who are the apples of her eye. Alyce retired from her position of Assistant Executive Director at the Transit Authority of River City (TARC) on September 1, 2016 after 39 years of faithful service to TARC. Alyce earned her Masters of Arts degree in management from Webster University in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. Alyce is a member of the 2001 class of Leadership Louisville and a 2003 Bingham Fellow. She is a former member of the advisory boards of the YMCA Safe Place and the Lincoln Foundation. Alyce has served as the Associate Pastor under the leadership of former pastor Reverend Dr. Thomas H. French. She received and accepted her call to preach in the year 2000 and was licensed by the former Pastor French. Alyce was subsequently ordained in 2008. She serves in various capacities including Administrative Assistant to the former Pastor French, Facilitator for the VESSELS for Christ Women’s Ministry, Sunday School Instructor, Children’s Church Facilitator, President of the Pastor’s choir as well as a member, Associate Minister and Associate Pastor. Rev. Alyce was installed as the Pastor of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, August 13, 2017.
Like David, Rev. Alyce fervently states that there are two things she has never seen: (1) the righteous forsaken and (2) His seed begging bread.
